In this post, I will talk about my favorite gadget: My Cellphone

I got my cell phone when I worked and received my first salary, I was very happy because at that time I didn't have a good cell phone that had a very slow cell phone, I was stuck, I couldn't play, and I didn't take good photos either.

At first I didn't want to buy a new cell phone, because I liked my old cell phone, since it had been a birthday gift from my parents. But then, when we can't even have a quiet conversation on WhatsApp, since my cell phone became very slow, I decided what it was time to buy a new one.

My boyfriend helped me discover what the best cell phone was like for me, that it had a good camera, that it was fast and also aesthetically cute. The best cell phone that we found with these characteristics, and that was well related to the quality-price was the Xiaomi Mi A2, a Chinese brand cell phone that at that time was not recognized, so it was quite economical in relation to the excellent cell phone features.

My cell phone is light blue and modifies I use it for everything, to take and upload photos, to do my homework, to communicate with my family, my friends and my boyfriend through phone calls, video calls, text messages, I use it to surf the Internet, watch my social networks, play many games, watch series and videos, listen to music, etc.

I use it every day, all the time, and I like it because it is very fast, it has a lot of space to store photos and videos and it keeps me in touch with the people I want.

Why Veterinary Medicine?

Today I'm going to tell you how I ended up choosing to study veterinary medicine in college.

Well, it all started when I went to professional technical school and studied accounting.... at that time I really liked the career, the idea of seeing bills, checks, and generally doing a lot of paperwork that I loved, until I dropped out of school and had to do my internship.  When I did my internship I realized that I didn't like sitting in a chair in front of a computer entering data while it was locked inside 4 walls. I realized that I wanted to study something else in college, related to health (since that area always seemed very interesting to me), where I could interact with the patient, and I could also be on the move, since I was bored of sitting.

So I decided to apply to several health-related careers in 2018, in fact, if I applied to veterinary medicine but not as a first choice, I really didn't know if I was prepared to face the death of an animal or perhaps see it in critical condition. So in the first option I put Phonoaudiology, a very nice career that deals with many things, such as speech, hearing, swallowing, stroke-related problems, burns in the digestive tract, and so on. The year I studied Phonoaudiology at the University of Chile I realized several things, but, above all, I realized that the career I was studying at that time was not passionate, as I had to make a career that would continue throughout my life. 

I always liked animals

During that year I went through very bad times, I was too stressed by the fact that I had to study from Monday to Friday and also have to work from Thursday to Sunday until 23:00 hours. Then, there was a moment when my body gave no more and I had to give up, to stop studying or stop working, because doing both things at the same time was killing me. I decided to stop studying, because the truth was not in love with the career, and at that time I decided to wait until the end of the year to apply only to veterinary medicine, because, in fact, since I was a child I had loved the idea of studying veterinary medicine and thus be able to help animals.

That's how in March of this year I started to study this beautiful career called veterinary medicine, where I'm very happy! Not only because of the career, but also because I met very kind people, who I am sure will be my friends throughout the career and for many years to come. Once I graduate from college, I would love to be able to work with wild animals on a reserve, or perhaps go to another country to meet, help, research and, above all, be happy.

My name is Karina Castillo and this is my first blog post about me Well, I was born in Santiago on January 31, 2000, and since then I have lived all my life in Padre Hurtado which is a small town where there are few people, but it’s very nice and cozy.

 My family consists of my parents, Patricia and Luis, my older brother Edward, my older sister Catherinne, my younger sister Sofia and me. Currently I live with my parents, my little sister and my two pets: my dog Leon and my hamster Juanchita. 

When I was a kid, I loved going to school, doing homework and having fun with my friends. During all my schooling I always studied in the same school, it was a professional technical school where I graduated as an accounting technician.

After graduating from school I started doing my internship in a supermarket, where I did accounting and also worked as a cashier. After finishing my internship, I continued to work in the same place for two years.

I always liked math and numbers, I really liked being in a school where I could study accounting and also get a degree, but finally I thought how boring it would be to spend a lot of time in a closed office calculating things or dressing formally every day. At that moment I realized that my real desire was to study something related to health or maybe animals, so I decided to study veterinary medicine, even though a year earlier I studied Phonoaudiology at the University of Chile.

When I was 9 years old, I met the boy who in a future would be my boyfriend, we were only classmates until he declared his love to me when I was 14 years old.  Since then we've been boyfriends and, of course, best friends! She is my soul mate, my partner, my dance partner and obviously, she is my favorite person in the world and has given me the best 5 years I could ever ask of life.

In my free time, I like to watch movies and do series marathons on netflix, I also like to listen to music or go out with my boyfriend, but above all, I love to dance, since I was little I love dance and the way I express myself through it. For many years, every year I present myself at a summer festival that takes place in the place where I live, which makes me very happy.
